Kata Noi Beach
Kata Noi Beach is one of the islands best beaches, the scenery itself is very beautiful, the water is clear and blue, the sand is soft and the beach is wide. You can walk down the beach and swim around here and you are able to see the bays of Kata, Kata Noi and Karon from here. If you are swimming then it is recommended to swim between November to April as it can be dangerous to do so during the monsoon season. It is a more secluded location because it takes more effort to get here compared to the other beaches. Kata Noi Beach is also a very good surf spot for those who want to learn and practice but it does get a little more challenging during low seasons.
Phang Nga Bay
Phang Nga Bay features captivating flooded caves and limestone cliffs, you get the choice of riding a Phang Nga Canoe, Chinese junk boat through the caves or if you have money to splurge you can book a private cruise for a more relaxing and comfortable experience. Phuket Big Bhudda
The big buddha is one of the most iconic landmarks of Phuket and from the top you can get a great panoramic view above of the island, it’s a nice and quiet place to chill and relax set aside from the bells and dharmic music. The white marbled buddha statue stands tall at 45 metres. You can even sponsor the white tile where you can write your name, proceeds go towards the maintenance projects for the buddha. Take special note that this is a religious place, you will need to stay quiet and follow the clothing restrictions that are put in place out of respect. If you wear any shorts or skirts that above the knee, you will be required to wear a sarong which is provided at the entrance.
Chalong Temple
Chalong temple or known locally as Wat Chalong is the largest and most popular Buddhist temple in Phuket. Marvel at the illustrious walls and ceilings which are ornamented with paintings illustrating the life of buddha and golden statues. You can also visit the rooftop for a nice view of the surrounding area. The 60 metre stupa houses a bone fragment of the buddha himself. Sometimes the location features funfairs that provide plenty of food and fun performances and games, again this is a religious site so please be respectful when you visit the temple.
Bangla Road
For those who want to party the night away, but even then Soi Bangla is not the shady red light district that people are led to believe. There are a lot of tasty restaurants and great shops, if you choose to party bars and dance clubs. Prices are kept low to compete for your attention here at Soi Bangla.
Chalong Bay Rum Distillery
Chalong Bay Rum produces high quality white rum and it’s starting to gain a foothold around the globe. Take a tour to learn about the history and how the rum is made and to check backstage to witness the production of the rum. They also allow you to participate in a workshop at the end to teach you how to make cocktails with Chalong Bay Rum. Visit the Crane Crush restaurant located opposite to the distillery, they offer appetising food here using natural local fresh foods.
Siam Niramit Park
Watch a stage performance of Thailand recounting their 700 year history. The stage is beautiful with choreography comprising more than a 100 people. The play is narrated in a way which is simple to understand while the music brings you into a world of Thai myths and legends. Visit the park nearby where you find recreations of Thai villages situated in the regions of Thailand. Each house provides insight as to the special produce that comes out of each region, be it handicrafts or food. Each village welcomes you with food and explains the purpose for various houses and how people used to live back then.
Phuket Trickeye Museum
The Phuket Trickeye Museum is the perfect place to go to with kids or friends. You can easily kill a couple of hours here and the place is a bundle of fun. For the initiated, a Trickeye Museum is a 3D gallery where visitors can interact with the 3D art and take pictures resulting in some fun photo sessions. The Gallery houses 100 painting exhibits that you can enjoy. Ride a flying carpet, fight mike Tyson in the ring or escape from a giant crocodile. Visitors are asked to remove their shoes so as not to damage the part pieces and because of this beware slipping and hurting yourself as some exhibits contain stairs.
